Treatments

Prevention and check-up, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry and so much more.
Preventive dentistry

Preventive dentistry focuses on preventing dental problems. This includes regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments and instructing patients to achieve good oral hygiene.

The check-up appointment is an essential part of this. Once you are included in our database as a patient, you will be invited to book a check-up appointment at a frequency of 6 or 12 months. The check-up frequency is determined on the basis of your risk profile (many or few dental or gum problems in the past)

General dentistry
General dentistry includes a wide range of treatments aimed at restoring and maintaining the health and functionality of your teeth. At Lovadent, we offer comprehensive general dental care, including fillings and urgent appointments vv tooth pain, swelling or a chipped tooth.
Endodontics

Endodontics Includes root canal treatments to remove infected or inflamed tissue and save the tooth from extraction.

This is important because untreated pulp disease can cause severe pain, infection and even loss of the tooth.

Endodontic treatments have a high success rate and can often extend the life of an affected tooth. It is important not to ignore any symptoms of pulp disease, such as severe tooth pain, sensitivity to heat or cold, swelling or an abscess, and make a timely appointment with your dentist for an evaluation.

Paradontology
Paradontology focuses on the health of the gums and the underlying tissues that support the teeth. Treatments in this field include treating gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontitis (severe gum disease), as well as performing gum surgery and placing implants (see below Implantology)
Pediatric dentistry
Dentistry for children focuses on promoting good oral health from an early age. This includes preventive measures such as fluoride treatments, sealings (sealants) to prevent tooth decay, and teaching children and parents about oral hygiene. In case of tooth decay, we treat the children ourselves as much as possible. If specialised care is indicated, referrals will be made to a specialised paediatric dentist. For orthodontic treatment, we refer to the orthodontist at the appropriate time.
Restorative dentistry

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing damaged, compromised or lost dental tissue to restore the functionality, structure and health of the teeth.

This field combines aspects of both general and aesthetic dentistry, but focuses specifically on restoring the natural shape and function of teeth.

Some common treatments include:

    1. Crowns and bridges: Crowns are used to cover and strengthen damaged or weakened teeth, while bridges are used to replace missing teeth. These restorations not only restore the functionality of teeth, but also help maintain tooth alignment and improve the bite.
    2. Crowns, bridges and dentures on dental implants: implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They provide a durable and stable base for crowns, bridges or dentures, allowing a natural and firm bite to be obtained.
    3. Onlays, overlays of facings are indirect restorations used to restore teeth that have suffered moderate to severe damage but still have enough healthy tooth tissue to retain. They are custom-made in a dental laboratory and then bonded to the teeth to restore their structure and function.
    4. Fills and restorative materials: Restorative dentistry also includes the use of composite to repair damaged teeth (in case of wear or erosion), in addition to filling cavities.

Through restorative dentistry, dentists can restore dental health, functionality and aesthetics, allowing patients to once again enjoy a comfortable and confident smile.

Aesthetic dentistry

Aesthetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of your smile. This can be achieved by, among other things

- teeth whitening,

- placement of composite or porcelain veneers (shields)

- correction of abnormal tooth position through orthodontics (on referral).

Implantology
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots surgically placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They provide a durable and stable base for dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges or dentures. The discussion and planning of placing an implant (with corresponding restoration on it) is done in consultation with the patient, dentist and periodontist. The placement of the implants is done externally.
